about

a song needed now more than ever.

lyrics

A man emerges in troubled times.
Says he’s the only one that can ease your mind.
Claims the world’s laughing and we’re no longer great.
And we must follow him if we want to change fate.

Pre chorus: Claims he’s a great leader and honest through and through
The problems, he says, are caused by people not like you.

Chorus:
Beware the narcissist and what he offers you.
Beware the narcissist and what he paints as truth.
Beware the narcissist , he says, “oh well, ain’t life a bitch”
“cause you’re still struggling while he keeps getting rich.

Says critics are bad – attack his Christian ways
And we must stop those folks who are not the same.
Those of a different skin, those with a different faith
Those freedoms must be squashed to keep our country’s ways.

Pre chorus;
“I’m such a strong Christian; that’s why they attack me.”
He shouts while choosing scriptures he wants you to see.
The crowd boos the penned up press with no nuance or tact.
Nods while he implies who they are to attack.
Claims he’s a great leader and honest through and through
The problems, he says, are still from people not like you.

(Repeat Chorus)

The narcissist claims he’s the victim here.
Gets his power from playing off your fear.
Mines your prejudices while he takes your cash
Many words are lies that change in a flash.

A media novelty – for access they placate
When they finally wake up I hope it’s not too late.

(Repeat chorus)

Thought if you’d ignore him than he’d go away
Now good people must stand and fight his twisted hate
The narcissist thrives on pain within desperate times
Seeking power while he manipulates your mind.

(Repeat first half of chorus)

The Narcissist’s Outreach Speech:
“And if you’re not like me, what have you got to lose?”
Overlook that I’ll allow discrimination against you.”

Beware the narcissist.
